Deborah J. Kirby, branch manager of Bristol County Savings Bank, 130 Pleasant St., Attleboro.
Background: I grew up in Attleboro, attended Attleboro schools and reside here now. My mom, three brothers and their families all live here as well. I can’t imagine ever leaving. You could say my alliance to Attleboro runs deep and I often refer to myself as a “townie.”
Resume: I started my banking career in 1983 at Durfee Attleboro Bank. I became a customer service representative at Attleboro Savings Bank in 1985. The bank merged, failed, was acquired, merged again and I found myself working at Fleet Bank. I left there 12 years ago looking to go back to a community bank. I found that in Bristol County Savings Bank.
Bristol County Savings Bank truly serves the needs of the community by offering products and services for most everyone. We offer the “old fashioned” passbook accounts to a multitude of cash management services for multi-million dollar corporations.
What does being in the Chamber mean to you?: It means making connections with other local business people on both a professional and personal level. It means building relationships, buying from and using the services of people you’ve learned to know and trust and helping to keep our communities strong.
Other Interests: I’m on the board of the Friends of Capron Park Zoo, Inc. I love animals and most of my charitable contributions go to local animal shelters. I spend a fortune on wild bird food and as a result have five of the fattest squirrels in Attleboro living in my yard!
Personal: I am married to Brad Kirby. He is an HVAC Service Technician for M.J. Briggs HVAC Mechanical, Inc. in North Attleboro. We have three furry children: 2 cats; George and Bibits and a dog named Frodo.
